After the praise that the LG G Pad 8.3 got, the South Koreans may be optimistic enough to try and engage into more initiatives of this kind. They’re not rumored to be working on a phablet with a big diagonal, much in the vein of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra.

The LG G2 and G Pad 8.3 are impressive design-wise and if they keep making such appealing designs, they will manage to pass their rivals. LG is barely now getting into the tablet biz seriously, after 2 years of absence. It’s not clear what their strategy in the phablet area is, since they keep making LG Vu devices, that don’t seem to be hits, not even locally.

Anyway, the new phablet is expected to be a 6.4 incher, with a Full HD resolution, an 8 megapixel camera at the back with LED flash and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and 3 GB of RAM on board. Android 4.4 KitKat will be the OS and for now we don’t even have a name for the product, let alone a price or launch date.
