The Kobo Arc 10 tablet was recently introduced and taken for a spin over the past days at various showcasing all over the world. This new Android slate features a 10 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel display and a powerful quad core Tegra 4 1.8 GHz CPU under the hood.
The interface is a custom one, with a layer of software applied on top of Android. The interface in the homescreen is divided into several sections and it’s a pretty clean UI, although the initial contact is reported to be a bit laggy. Kobo bundles a feature here called Beyond the Book, that allows the user to get more out of the reading experience.
The Reading Mode is combined with the notification bar functionality, for more immersion, so you won’t feel you’re bothered by notifications. There’s a Read Later feature if you don’t have time to read a book now and you want to save it for later. Kobo Arc HD 10 packs 16 GB of storage and the entire sure of Google, Facebok, Twitter, Skype and more is bundled.
We’ve got 2 GB of DDR3 RAM inside, a 1.3 MP front camera and WiFi, as well as Bluetooth 4.0 and Miracast. The whole thing weighs 627 grams and measures 9.9 mm in thickness.
