It appears it’s price cut season at Microsoft and in the ranks of Microsoft Win 8 OEM partners. After cutting the price of Surface RT a while ago and Surface Pro recently, it’s time for the Acer Iconia W3, the very first sub 10 inch Win 8 slate to get a cut.

The Iconia W3 8 incher gets this reduction less than 3 months after its introduction and it goes for $80 less than the original $379 price tag for the 32 GB model. The Microsoft Store now shows a $299 price tag for the 32 GB device, while the 64 GB model retails for $349. Prices were also reduced on the likes of Amazon and Staples.

For those of you who don’t know, the Acer Iconia W3 weighs 499 grams and measures 10.2 mm, so it’s not the lightest slate out there. The device relies on an Intel Atom 2760 dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM and Microsoft Office 2013 installed. The screen is a 8.1 inch 1280 x 800 unit and we’ve got Windows 8 on board.
