It appears that nowadays, aside from ASUS and sometimes Samsung big companies are afraid to experiment with new formats. That’s why the PadFone is only restricted to ASUS, since other companies feel they wouldn’t deliver a good enough experience. Today we see a new original hybrid, the Newsmy Newman Q20.

newsmy-q20

This is a netbook-tablet hybrid, that seems inspired from Nokia devices of the old if you ask me. There’s a touch of Communicator here and a bigger touch of the N900 model. This model device allows you to work on your documents on the go and adopts a horizontal clamshell form factor. It features a comfy QWERTY keyboard and relies on a 8.9 inch display.

Inside there’s an Intel Atom CPU dual core CPU with 1.6 GHz clock speed (Cedar Trail), 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and we’ve also got Ethernet and HDMI in here. The device supports a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, and a front facing camera. Windows 8 is the OS of choice and if the price were reasonable, I would be all over this product.
