Believe it or not I’ve heard about the brand PiPo before and this is a tablet maker from China that today proposes a brand new product: the M6 slate with a Cortex A9 CPU and Retina Display. Also the price is not bad at all, at $228.
The product runs Android 4.2 and relies on a quad core Rockchip RK3188 processor, a 9.7 inch 2048 x 1536 pixel display and 2 GB of RAM. The device has exactly the same diagonal and resolution as the Retina iPad and it also promises 420 nits brightness. The maker of the device also mentions that 95% of all household LCDs offer 18 bit color, while their product goes further and offers 24 bit true color.
PiPo M6 has a color gamut increased by 44% compared to the ordinary tablets, so it’s actually an interesting slate. The RK3188 processor inside is a 28 nm chip with a stable framework and relies on 4 ARM Cortex A9 cores. The GPU is the famous quad core ARM Mali 400 with a maximum frequency of 1.8 GHz. At the back of the tablet we find a 5 megapixel camera, while upfront there’s a 2 megapixel shooter, if you’re worried about that.
HDMI is also on board as well as full support for Full HD playback.
