The new generation of Allwinner System on a Chip solution, the A31 is becoming more and more popular especially among white box device makers. Today we’ve found two new tablet models that feature this chip, the Chinese ICOO ICOU8GS and the Russian Alkotel Texet TM-9751HD.
The Chinese model features an aluminum chassis, an 8 inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and the quad core Cortex A7 Allwinner A31 chip. It’s clocked at 1.5 GHz and accompanied by a powerful GPU, the PowerVR SGX GPU. Also on board we find 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a 3 megapixel webcam.
We’ve also got a 5 megapixel rear camera on board with autofocus and LED flash. WiFi and Bluetooth modules are included, as well as a 5000 mAh battery. The OS of choice is Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The Russian Text unit has a polycarbonate shell, a 9.7 inch IPS screen with a Retina display resolution (2048 x 1536 pixels), a microSDHC card slot and a 8000 mAh battery.
There’s a 2 MP camera on board and the price tag is not that bad, at $320. Which of the two models do you prefer?
