Acer apparently had a recent event in New York, during which it showcased a bunch of new products, that include the Iconia A1 7.9 inch tablet. This device will cost 169 euros and you can check it out below.
The product comes in an 8 GB version, at least the basic one offers that much storage and its casing is made of plastic, in case you’re wondering. This device is a bit thicker than the iPad Mini, in spite of the similar diagonal. Acer Iconia A1 supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and it seems to pack the usual Acer customization that the company applies to its tablets and by this I mean a bunch of widgets, services and apps.
I also expect Acer Cloud to be bundled in there somewhere. As shown in the video, the screen doesn’t look that bad and at the back we seem to find a camera and a very plasticky panel. This device relies on a 1.2 GHz quad core processor from MediaTek, 1 GB of RAM, a microSD card slot and it even has a microHDMI port on the side. The product is expected in stores in late June for the price mentioned above. The 3G model will cost 219 euro.
