We knew that 7/8 inch Windows tablets were in the making and now we have an example of such a product, leaked courtesy of Amazon. The Verge received a tip from a reader that Amazon has a listing for a mystery 8 inch Acer slate, that we’ll discuss in the following lines.

Acer-W3-Lead-Final

The product is the Acer W3-810, a tablet that hasn’t been shown off at the recent New York Acer event. The W3 has a diagonal size of 8 inches and for those of you looking for proof, the listing was already pulled from Amazon. The machine packs an 8.1 inch 1280 x 800 display, a 1.8 GHz Intel Atom dual core processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a 2 megapixel camera upfront and also one at the rear.

There’s a microUSB 2.0 port on board as well, plus microHDMI and the whole thing weighs 1.1 pounds. We’ve got 8 hours of battery life here and we’ve even got a price for this model: $379.99, which is not bad at all. This means the device rivals the likes of the iPad Mini, although a Nexus 7 2 may seriously undercut this amount.
