HP recently entered the Android game with its Slate 7 device at $169.99, but they want bigger and better, as shown by a recent leak, detailed below. The US company is preparing to release a high end Android tablet in the following months and there’s proof about that.
A listing on the AnTuTu benchmark network shows a mystery slate, known as the HP SlateBook 10 X2. The product packs a 10.1 inch display, a new quad core Tegra 4 processor at 1.8 GHz and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The device probably gets the same Beats Audio treatment as the Slate 7 and it may have a 5 or 8 megapixel camera.
It’s good to see HP joining this tablet game seriously and now we wait for HTC to make a similar move, especially after they manage to get some serious profits from the likes of HTC One and Butterfly or even the upcoming Butterfly 2. Back to HP, they will be traumatized for years to come of the TouchPad failure and will always be cautious about tablets, which may prove to be a good thing.
