Sony has just confirmed officially that it will be offering the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Xperia Tablet S by the end of April/early May. Owners of the device have been waiting impatiently for the update, especially those suffering from issues, like random reboots.

Other problems include unstable WiFi connections. Owners are already annoyed by the delay of the update, that’s almost three versions behind the latest Android, release, if you also consider the release coming in May. Users are so angry that they started a petition to get Sony to release it earlier. Meanwhile, owners of the Sony Tablet S, first generation model have no news about Jelly Bean and will probably not get it.

If I remember well, the Xperia Tablet S had some production problems, with the factories being put on hold, since Sony found some gaps in the construction that would not make the device as waterproof as they initially promised. Hopefully, the Xperia Tablet Z will be better than that or at least updated faster…
