Chinese bigshot Lenovo was present at CES with some goodies, that include hybrids, like the brand new ThinkPad Helix shown below. This is a laptop/tablet hybrid with a 11.6 inch slate attached to a comfortable to use keyboard. Lenovo showcased the device and a bunch others on the floor of CES.
The Helix can be detached from the keyboard and use the keyboard to get extra battery life. Also, the keyboard can be used as a stand. ThinkPad Helix runs Windows 8 and packs a 1080p Gorilla Glass display, LTE connectivity, a 5 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera and NFC. The product hits the stores at the end of February. Sadly, it will be priced at a hefty $1,500 or even more if you want more potent components.
Lenovo also showed the world an upgraded IdeadPad Yoga, that can flip the screen backwards and a become a behemoth-like tablet. The IdeaPad Yoga 11S is priced at $800 with Intel Core i3 CPU and 4 GB of RAM. Back to the Helix, it has WiFi and 4G LTE support, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, up to a 256 GB SSD, 2 USB 3.0 ports, a RJ45 connector, mini display port and mini HDMI, plus Dolby Home Theater v4 sound.
