After the arrival of the ASUS Vivo Tab RT on major retailers and some carriers in Europe, it’s time for a rival brand to offer a rival product: the Samsung Ativ Tab. We’re dealing with a pretty interesting device here, one that was announced at IFA 2012 in Berlin and we could call such a late arrival quite a delay. The product is priced at 700 euros.

Expansys is the retailer claiming that the Ativ tablet will be available starting tomorrow. The Ativ Tab will arrive in most webshops and stores in the following days, while the Ativ S smartphone is delayed till next year, for some reason. Samsung Ativ Tab is a Windows RT tablet, the first in the series for Samsung. It uses a 10.1 inch LCD display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, a dual core 1.5 GHz processor, a 5 megapixel camera, 32 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM, plus a microSD card slot.

The device keeps pretty much the same design as the Galaxy Tab series and has the pair of speakers positioned on the front side, just like the Galaxy Note 10.1 and the Tab 2 10.1. At the back we’ve got a cover that resembles brushed aluminum, but the finishing is pretty much the same as the Galaxy S III Hyperglaze coating. The product weighs 570 grams and measures 8.9 mm, so it’s quite slim.
