Decreasing prices for a certain product may end up angering some people who actually bought the product days before it became cheaper. That happened a lot recently and people who bought the Nexus originally may have felt betrayed when the cheaper 16 GB Nexus 7 was introduced. Now Google has a solution for that!

It’s all about a price protection system for devices on the Google Play Store. Basically, the program refunds the difference if a device on the Play Store has become cheaper after you bought it. However, you have to fit in within a 15 days time frame after the price drop. In order to get the refund, you need to file a request with Google in just 15 days after the price cut is applied.

So, for example if you bought a 16 GB Nexus 7 on or after October 14th 2012, you can request a Google refund for the difference in price. Google will decide if you’re eligible for the price protection program and you’ll have your refund within 14 days. Future price drops will also be covered by this system, which is pretty cool actually. Will you be taking advantage of price protection?
