When the iPad Mini debuted days ago, everyone praised the fact that it has 3G connectivity, while the Nexus 7 doesn’t. Well, now guess what… there will be a 3G Nexus 7, as proved by a recent FCC filing. A certain ASUS Nexus 7 3G appears in their documents and it’s possible we’ll see this product launched on October 29th, during the Google Android event.
The filing mentions a tablet codenamed ME370TG, that’s the exact model number for the Nexus 7, except for the G that’s attached, that stands for 3G connectivity. We don’t know a lot about the new Nexus 7 version, aside from its cellular connectivity and the possibility of seeing a 32 GB version soon, selling for the same price as the 16 GB unit. I have to remind you that a customer in Japan and one in USA already bought the 32GB Nexus 7, that was sold to them by mistake.
So, who’s getting their hands on a 3G Nexus 7 and ditching the iPad Mini? I suppose the price tag of the new Nexus 7 should be around $250 or so, for the cheapest 3G version.
