We’ve heard previously that the ASUS PadFone 2 was in the making and now we have some decent proof regarding that new product. Till now we knew that the PadFone 2 was coming in 2013, close to the year end even. But now, considering the device was leaked in the AnTuTu database, it may come sooner than predicted.

So, the leak shows us the name PadFone 2, Android version 4.0.4 and a 1512 MHz processor, a quad core one. The first PadFone was already based on the Snapdragon S4, so continuing the tradition wouldn’t be a problem for Qualcomm or ASUS. The price and design are still mysteries, but I guess that big chunks of the original may be kept.

They should make the device a bit thinner, give the phone more battery and make the bulk at the back smaller, the one where the phone is housed. I suppose that by the year end we should have a leaked pic or video to go with and maybe a prototype to play with at MWC 2013, but for now all we have is this AnTuTu listing…
