We’ve seen pictures of the 5 inch HTC phablet here, a bunch of them actually and now we get a new name for the product and some new specs, Previously codenamed HTC 6435LVW, the device is now confirmed by a reliable source, also saying that the phablet features a 5 inch 1080p display with 480 ppi density.
It also comes with a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The same source also says that there’s a second notification LED on the device, for calls/alerts/charging, placed at the back of the device and near the camera. Right now the device is being mentioned under the name DIx, but that name isn’t certain yet. It could be short for Droid Incredible X, but no one can confirm or deny that at the moment. The 5 inch phablet from HTC may come with a brand new stylus technology, that follows the line of the HTC Scribe pen, that’s almost a year and a half old now.
HTC apparently decided not to give this product a microSD card slot for external storage and the battery is supposed to be removable, so we get good news and bad news. Previously, the device was rumored to support a 1794 x 1080 pixel resolution, amounting at 418 ppi, but now it seems bigger. Does it make sense for HTC to launch both the One X+ model and this one? What do you think?
