There’s a new theory regarding the iPad Mini, that’s not regarded as a smaller iPad any more, but rather as a bigger iPod Touchh with very small side bezels. To give you an idea of what we mean, we’ve included some mockups below, that appeared on 9to5mac.com. You can also see a comparison with the Nexus 7, if you’re curios.

If the bigger iPod design is adopted, with slim bezels, this would make the iPad Mini more pocketable and also give it a larger 4:3 display. Also, lacking a bigger bezels on the sides will make the device easier to hold. As usual, the lack of bezels on the side will be criticized because it would trigger random presses via touch, but Apple could create a software to prevent the sides from interpreting touch input. Other speculations include the presence of a front camera for video calls, while lacking a main one at the back.

Some of the models leaked so far have had camera holes, but some didn’t have them, so it’s not yet clear. If they give up on the camera, the price range could greatly decrease. LTE could also be included, as proved by the gap for Apple’s cell radio bar left on some of the leaked iPad Minis. And as far as launch goes, the product is rumored to be scheduled for November the earliest or maybe even the holidays. Price tag is seen as $299, but once again these are all speculations.
