NTT DoCoMo, the main Japanese carrier announced no less than 19 devices recently, all of them meant for launch this summer. They include mostly smartphones, a kids phone, a modem and a tablet. We’re here to talk about the tablet, that’s the Eluga Live model made by Panasonic and it’s coming in August.
The Eluga Live packs a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, Android 4.0 with the DoCoMo Palette UI skin on top. Other features include One Seg TV support, V High multimedia broadcasting and waterproof and dustproof abilities. This is a 10.1 inch tablet with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a TFT LCD panel for the screen. There’s a 1.3MP cam at the front and there isn’t any big main camera at the back. 1GB of RAM, WiFi and DLNA are also on board. The slate looks pretty portable to me, but it would be interesting to know how thick and heavy it is.
In the meantime the interface is pretty interesting and from what I’ve seen in hands on experiences the Eluga Live has a pretty glossy screen. There’s also a TV antenna on the upper corner, in case you wondered how to get those One Seg TV services. A price would also be good, but judging from the specs I would be worth about $300 or at most $400.
