When I hear about a tablet I’ve never heard of before, I imagine it’s a new Chinese slate with Android 4.0 and an affordable price. When I see that the pricing is $517, I either expect it to be made of a precious material or sport the Pixel Qi display… Neither of them is true for the POV ProTab 2 model, that simply runs Android 4.0… and that’s it!
The specs are pretty average, so the price has no justification. We’re dealing here with a 9.7 inch slate with IPS screen, a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 CPU with Mali 400 GPU under the hood. There’s also 1GB of DDR3 RAM available, 8 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot. Other features include dual cameras, with a 2MP sensor at the back and a 0.3MP cam upfront. Add to that a mini USB port, a mini HDMI port and Bluetooth, WiFi and you have the whole picture here.
Android 4.0 is preinstalled here, an unimpressive feat, since you get can get tablet straight out of Asia for $100 or $200 with Android 4.0 ICS… Why pay double the amount, simply for the fact the device is sold (and maybe made) in Europe?
