Acer has just debuted the Iconia Tab A510 Android 4.0 tablet, a quad core Tegra 3 device and actually the first model from this company to use this Nvidia CPU and also the first to run ICS out of the box. The slate looks pretty much like the Tegra 2-based A500 from last year, with the same 10.1 inch display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.
There’s also a 5MP cam at the back and a 1MP one at the front, while under the hood we find, aside from the Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Acer has impressive claims that the tablet will provide around 13 hours of use time, thanks to a very big 9,800 mAh battery and some power saving features made available thanks to the Tegra 3 chipset. Other things to mention on this deice are microSD storage, micro HDMI port, micro USB and a waistline of 10.9mm.
The product weighs 680.4 grams and has Acer’s custom UI with a ring-shaped pop up app launcher on top of the Ice Cream Sandwich experience. The device is up for pre order right now for the price of $449.99. As shown at its back, there’s some tie in between this product and this summer’s Olympic Games.
