Although the Huawei conference took place on Sunday, it’s only today that we get some proper details on their new tablet, the Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD, a quad core slate with a 1.5GHz processor and Android 4.0 as the OS of choice. Richard Yu, Huawei Device president said that the product was created with watching movies on the go, gaming and browsing in mind.

The Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD is the fastest quad core tablet available, according to Huawei, that uses a K3 quad core 1.5GHz processor, that’s also the smallest quad core CPU on the market. The new Huawei tablet supports LTE connectivity, a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, provides an audio Dolby experience and it features two cameras:: an 8MP one at the back with autofocus and a 1.3MP shooter upfront. The device measures 8.8mm, weighs 598 grams and it’s very portable.

The new MediaPad uses an aluminum case and is intended for release in Q3 2012. No price tag was mentioned just yet and if you wonder why this device wasn’t detailed on stage at MWC 2012, know that the product was only in prototype phase at the time, so Huawei didn’t want to risk showing it uncompleted. I’m really curios to see how the K3 CPU will fare in benchmarks compared to the latest Snapdragon or Tegra 3…
