The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is an intermediary unit, right between the 10 inch and 7 inch tablets… I have to say that the 8.9 inch format is perfect for the people who don’t need the business feats of 10 inch slates and those who don’t want a playful 7 inch tablet. So, here’s the unboxing of the 8.9 inch tablet with Honeycomb.
This device comes with a bunch of manuals inside the box, headphones, a USB cable and the usual charger, no fancy accessories here. The USB cable uses a proprietary port at its other end, a feat that reminds me of Apple and lawsuits, sadly. This de 8.9 inch tablet was among the products not affected so badly by the Apple and Samsung duel, mainly because its diagonal size is no threat to the iPad 2.
As you can see, the tablet boots fast, but it seems to suffer from a bit of lag and the Honeycomb experience is tweak courtesy of TouchWiz. This UI wasn’t present on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 version I tested, but this time it’s here… probably making the whole experience a bit laggier and crowded. I, for one want to get Android 4.0 on this device ASAP and get rid of the nasty Honeycomb.
