If you’re a fan of bulky tablets that rely on a stylus, you’ll be happy to know that such a device has extra roaming capabilities. I’m talking about the Lenovo ThinkPad, a Honeycomb tablet that we’ve reviewed for you not so long ago. This slate is supposed to incorporate Qualcomm’s Gobi 3000 technology.

This means that the Android tablet can be used all over the world, since the chip I’ve just mentioned offers support for CDMA and GSM networks. I honestly didn’t like the slate when it was offered to us for a review, but maybe some people really dig this kind of products. I guess that since such a chip made it to this device, it will be incorporated in some other tablets, right? That unless some money grubbing carriers have something against it…

Considering ASUS said at some point that they’re more fond of WiFi tablets than 3G ones, not everyone is rushing to push out 3G models, when the cheaper WiFi slates with Android are selling well. Also, there’s a WiFi hotspot almost anywhere on the globe, so lacking 3G is not that big of a flaw…
