After Android 4.0 was teased on the ASUS Transformer Prime tablet, it’s time now to go to its predecessor, the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and give it the same treatment. Since the source code of Ice Cream Sandwich is out, it was fairly easy for experts to port the new Android on various devices, such as the older Transformer.
This is still considered a hit tablet of 2011, with 400k units being sold at some point. The Eee Pad Transformer was pretty privileged, since it was among the first to receive the Honeycomb updates. A landmark of when the older slate will get Android 4.0 would be the time when Motorola Xoom gets it. Well, till then we have the video below, showing a developer’s work with Android 4.0 and the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer.
Of course, the usual bugs are present: no sound, lag, bugs and much more. This is only the beginning of the development though and things will get better as the project continues. All hail third party developers! What tablet is next, I wonder, maybe the rival Acer device that also had some decent sales?
