ZTE just announced a new tablet with 8 inch diagonal and 3G connectivity, the V81 model, pictured below. We’re dealing with a dual core slate that has some low end specs, so we’re expecting the price to match up these specs. ZTE V81 supports a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution on the 8 inch screen and for the rest of the specs, you have to keep on reading.
Inside it we find a dual core 1.4 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, a 3700 mAh battery, WiFi b/g/n and a 3G HSPA 21 Mbps radio on board. At the back we’ve got a 2 MP camera and upfront a 0.3 MP shooter for videocalls. The specs may fit a tablet of 2011 rather than a modern device, but if the price is affordable, it’s ok.
Such a model can only succeed if priced between $100 and $200 or even lower than $150 since even tablets sub $200 have increased their specs nowadays. The V81 may or may not be present at MWC 2013, although as far as I know ZTE has a booth there. Would you buy something like this?
