Another day another Asian tablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on board… This one is available all over China and it’s the Smart Devices Ten3, that’s pictured below. The Shanzai maker of this product offers us a high end unit with a pretty reasonable price.
The Ten3 comes with a 9.7 inch IPS screen, a dual core TI OMAP4430 processor with 1GHz frequency, plus dual cameras and a price tag of $268. There’s also a follow-up slate coming, one with a 10.1 inch display and 1.8GHz TI OMAP 4 processor. Lately I’ve seen a bunch of Chinese Android 4.0 tablets based on Rockchip and Ingenic chips, so getting a TI chip tablet is a welcome alternative. Let’s just hope that the experience is fluid and that the tablet doesn’t burst into flames, as people usually assume when it comes to a budget device.
Considering how many Android 4.0 tablets came out recently is there really any reason to fret over HTC’s and Samsung’s offerings in this field? Maybe their quad core units…
