Indian phone developer XOLO has entered the 7 inch tablet market with the XOLO Play Tegra Note tablet, a device based on the Nvidia Tegra Note reference design that was introduced a few months ago.
The new product competes with the Nexus 7 and iPad Mini and the device will debut in Indian stores on December 16th. The product is already on presale at the Indian e-commerce site Flipkart. The XOLO Play Tegra Note features a Nvidia Tegra 4 processor clocked at 1.8 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a microSD card slot with support for 64 GB more.
There’s a 7 inch 1280 x 800 pixel display on board, a 5 MP back camera and a 0.3 megapixel front shooter. Nvidia also implemented “pure audio” tech here, for the “deepest, richest sound and widest frequency range on a tablet”, according to XOLO. There’s a bundled stylus too with the Direct Stylus Technology also available. The price of this model in India is $290.
