We’ve known for a while that Xiaomi was planning on getting into the laptop market and that their notebook would resemble and rival the MacBook. Today a part of the speculations and rumors gets confirmed, through a leak of the device.
Supposedly, it’s called Xiaomi Mi Book Pro and we have some of its specs listed. Coming straight out of Weibo, a series of pics of the device looks a lot like a MacBook Pro and we can’t guarantee 100% its pictures are legit, since it may well be just a MacBook clone made by another Chinese firm. What’s certain is that we get a solid metal case, this model runs Windows and then there’s also a strange screenshot, showing us that MIUI 8 is the actual OS here.
The same screenshot details specs, like an AMOLED 13 inch screen, an Intel Core i7 CPU, 32 GB of RAM (wow!) and an Nvidia GTX980M 4 GB graphics card. Xiaomi is rumored to detail and launch the product on July 27th, when they’ll also debut the Redmi Pro phone. There’s also talk about an USB Type C port and other rumors speak about an Intel Core i7-6500U chipset at 2.5 GHz, plus 8 GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760M GPU.
Then there’s a theory saying we’re actually getting 3 versions of the device: a 12.5 incher, 13.3 incher and 15.6 incher, with the biggest one costing $470. Which one sound the best to you?
