A few more details about the rumored Xiaomi MiPad tablet have leaked and they include the presence of a quad core CPU and built in 3G. The device is expected to rely on a MT8125 CPU, although some were hoping to get an 8 core Mediatek here…
The MT8125 is a Cortex A7 chipset, that can be clocked at 1.5 GHz and relies on PowerVR 5XT graphics. If the Xiaomi tablet adopts this solution, it means it will support 1080p video encoding, a 13 megapixel camera and WiFi and 3G. Rumors say that this product will feature a 7 inch display, MIUI V5 and it will be launched on August 16th.
The rumored price tag is about 999 Yuan, which converts to about $160. With 8 core tablets incoming by the end of the year and high power slates dropping below $150, this Xiaomi unit sounds like it’s going to drop under our radar this time…
