In August the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro tablets will become exactly one year old, which means it’s high time we got a follow-up, a successor. The device may well be called Xiaomi Pad 6 and the first rumors about it have surfaced, hinting at a pretty large diagonal size.

The newcomer is said to have a 14 inch screen and will be more of a rival for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, rather than the Tab S8 or Tab S8+. The info comes from tipster Digital Chat Station and it seems that the new tablet will be part of a fresh lineup. There’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in the mix, but we may end up with the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The price will be more competitive for the 14 inch Xiaomi Pad 6, compared to the Tab S8 Ultra.

We also hear that a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 processor could power some of the other models which are part of the Pad 6 series, according to the same tipster. He also mentions a 9000 mAh battery inside, which is lower than the 11.200 mAh unit of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. We’re also expecting stylus support, a very slim waistline and 8 or 12 GB of RAM. Quad or even 6 speakers should be available, plus a dual back camera with 4K video capture.

Don’t expect the bezels to be too narrow.
