Xiaomi has published an official list of devices that are ready to be updated to MIUI 7 and that list doesn’t only include phablets and phones, but also a tablet. Obviously, it’s Xiaomi’s one and Only Mi Pad.
MIUI 7 will start arriving via OTA methods on October 27th, or the users can resort to the MIUI official website to download the needed software package. The list is very rich with models from the Note and Redmi series, plus the above mentioned tablet. We’re still waiting for a new Xiaomi slate and we may see one before the year is out, with the Android market ripe for the taking, especially since there’s no new Nexus tablet this year for example and many makers are banking on productivity devices.
MIUI 7 comes with innovations like an XXL font, a Baby album that gathers together the pictures of babies, a special Child mode, that allows parents to set up the content that kids can see on the device and better battery management. Showtime is another feature, that sets a movable selfie as your contact card, basically a sort of GIF or small video.
Data Saver is also a new option, that uses Opera’s Max compression tech to reduce data usage. Auto DND and brand new wallpapers and looks of menus have been included.
