ZDNet recently confirmed what we knew for a while now: we won’t be seeing Windows Phone 7 tablets on the market, ever. Microsoft wants to keep the experience limited to the 4 inch display and doesn’t plan to expand the finger-friendly UI to the bigger screens.
Also, MS keeps pushing Windows 7 Embedded on large slates, although we all know how poor the touch experience on that platform is. We’d personally go with MeeGo, webOS and whatever Google is cooking for us in Android 3.0. Windows Phone 7 would also be a good alternative, but maybe we’ll see some porting thanks to the lovely devs who managed to bring Win 95 on the iPad for example.
