For more than a couple of months we’re hearing about the fact that tablet devices aren’t so attractive for the consumers, thing that leads to poor sales. However, today, the research company IDC reveals a table with the tablet sales during the 2nd quarter of 2015, sales made in the Western Europe.
As you can see in the picture above, tablet sales stabilized in this 2nd quarter, period when Samsung managed to sell even more tablets compared to previous year. More precisely, if in the 2nd quarter of 2015, the South-Korean company shipped 1.696.000 tablets in Western Europe, now in the same time-table of 2015, more than 2 million tablets were sold.
On the other hand, Apple seems to drop its market share (-12.2% shipments compared to last year). Beside Apple, we also have Microsoft, company that really manages to stand out. As you can notice, the growth of Microsoft tablet sales is 187.5% (74.000 tablets sold in 2Q14 vs. 213.000 tablets sold in 2Q15.
However, you should consider that this table makes reference just to the Western European market, so the global numbers could be a lot different.
