For some reason, the Ice Screen is dubbed a mobile entertainment product, although it doesn’t have a battery or anything making it seem… portable. However, the device is thin and smart enough to be considered an oversized tablet, only that it requires an AC outlet to operate. It does seem fairly easy to carry around, though…
The 26 inch screen supports a resolution of 1366 x 768 and it’s a system fully capable of browsing the web and streaming video, music and video games via QQ services. Ice Screen runs on a dual core ARM Cortex A9 processor at 1 GHz and this Smart TV uses a Mali 400 GPU and 4 GB of RAM (?), while also offering support for memory cards of up to 32 GB in capacity. Other specs include WiFi, a pair of USB ports, HDMI output, a 3.5 mm audio jack and IR remote control.
The price of the device is around $315 and the product can be preordered in China right now, with an official debut date set for September 3rd. I’m curios if it will ever leave China, considering it looks more like a niche device and not something for global consumption.
