Yesterday Computex 2017 kicked off, with an ASUS conference under the tagline “The Edge of Beyond”. They unveiled quite a few laptops and one ultraslim convertible, that we detailed here. ASUS chairman Jonney Shih was on stage to show us the new products.
The official seemed very excited about the novelty and told us a passionate tale of modern technology and evolution. The event focused on the new products from the ZenBook and VivoBook lineups. We saw the ZenBook Flip S (UX370) taking off, as the world’s thinnest convertible laptop. Then came the ZenBook 3 Deluxe UX490, which is another premiere: the world’s thinnest 14 inch laptop.
We also saw the ASUS ZenBook Pro UX550, once again the thinnest, lightest and most powerful ultraportable machine with professional features. ASUS VivoBook S15 took the prices down into the area of several Benjamins, while still offering a 15.6 inch screen within a 14 inch chassis. ASUS VivoBook Pro 15 came after it, sporting up to 4K display.
All the new lineup is based on Windows 10 and offers features like Windows Ink, Windows Hello, Cortana and Modern Standby. A brand new Zen AiO ZN242 model also made the cut, with a high performance setup and Windows 10. It has a 23.8 inch NanoEdge display with 2 mm physical bezel and a crazy 90% screen to body ratio. These products are all showcased in Taipei, at the Taipei World Trade Center till June 3rd.
