Toshiba has recently announced that it intends to update the Thrive tablets to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich till the end of Spring. Plans for this software update have been discussed by officials on the Toshiba USA Twitter account.
Till now Toshiba was tight lipped about the possibility of jumping to ICS. Of course, there’s no formal announcement from the company, so we will have to do with the Twitter discussions. The folks of Computerworld have received a confirmation from Toshiba PR manager Eric Paulsen via Twitter that the company will update both the 10 inch and 7 inch Thrive models till the end of Spring.
This will put Toshiba on par with companies such as ASUS and Motorola, that have already started updating their tablet lineup with Android 4.0. Both have one model updated and I can’t help but wonder why Samsung is the most quiet tablet maker when it comes to updates…
