There’s finally a challenger for the iPad, aside from the Galaxy Tab and this one is made by Toshiba. The Japanese giant offers a 10 inch slate, that has a price similar to the one of the Apple product and it’s also based on the well performing Nvidia Tegra 2 mobile processor. The Toshiba Tablet will debut in H1 2011 and run Google Honeycomb (Android 2.4).

The images you can see in this article are taken from Engaget’s hands-on experience with the device. Toshiba’s wonderkid weighs 1.7 pounds, supports WiFi and comes with front and rear cameras. There’s also an app store supported on it and the price tag should be close to the iPad’s $499.

This tablet will be shown off during this week’s CES 2011 event in Las Vegas. It’ll be tough to compete with Apple, that already sold 12 million iPads in 2010, but if anyone can do it, that’s Toshiba!
