A recent AdMob survey has shown that tablet owners use their devices mostly for gaming, which doesn’t quite surprise us, considering the graphic potential of the devices. Apparently, 84% of tablet users play games and considering many of them are iPad owners, they have all the reason to do so.

Imagine tons of gaming apps and famous franchises that have reached the iPad and then Android… The strange thing is that gaming makes users less focused on other activities, like information searches, performed by 78% of tablet owners or email (74%) and reading news (61%). If we hadn’t seen this study, we would have supposed that Internet browsing and email are the most popular things to do on a slate…

What’s really strange is that only 51% of the respondents said they use their devices for music and videos. Is that for real? I guess that a tablet is too big to be your portable player and also too small to enjoy viewing a movie without having use a dock or something. Interestingly enough, 43% of tablet owners spend more time on the portable than on the standard PC, which is bad news for the future of computers.
