In case your PlayStation felt alone in the living room, starting today there’s a new piece of gear you can connect to it. I’m talking about the Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, that’s now available on preorder in USA.

This is a pretty appealing device, but it’s both thin and well specced. The product can be used for Remote Play functionality with the PlayStation 4 and it will be shipped by November 2nd, which is two weeks away more or less. The 32 GB WiFi only version of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact will be priced a bit under $500. The slate measures 6.4 mm in thickness, integrates an 8 inch 1920 x 1200 pixel display and runs on a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 processor.

It also sports 3 GB of RAM, it’s waterproof and not a bad looker, especially with its video friendly form factor. Of course, the Nexus 9 and iPads have higher resolutions, but I’m willing to bet this model’s acoustics and camera are a bit better than the ones of those devices, or at least the iPad’s. I’d love to see how it handles acoustics in comparison with the Nexus 9, though…
