Sony started offering the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to the Xperia Z3 family devices earlier this month, minus the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact for some reason. It’s only now that the smaller slate is getting it, to the dismay of owners.

Anyway, the gaming-oriented device (one of the first with PS4 remote play) gets over the air the software version number 23.5.A.0.570. It’s coming to both LTE models (SGP621 and SGP641), plus the WiFi only units (SGP 611, SGP612). Of course the rollout will be completed in a few weeks. It also depends very much on the market and the carriers.

The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact is an 87 inch device with a very solid set of specs even nowadays. It’s certified for dust and water resilience and came with KitKat initially, so it already went up to Lollipop once. Marshmallow brings to it features like Doze, better permission management and Google Now on Tap.
