Sony is supposedly working on a Xperia Tablet Z successor already, one that will feature the Snapdragon 800 high end processor. This CPU was unveiled at MWC 2013 on a ZTE device, but sadly that model didn’t hit the market with the same CPU as the prototype version. While the Snapdragon 600 was already adopted on several devices, the higher end Snapdragon 800 is still months from arrival…

The new Sony tablet would adopt the quad core CPU with Adreno 330 GPU and a clock rate support of up to 2.3 GHz. An Esato board member has made this unveiling, claiming that the product may arrive sometime in Q3 or Q4. An announcement at IFA 2013 would certainly steal the show, especially considering that Samsung is preparing the Galaxy Note III and the Galaxy Tab 3 devices for the same show.

We have no idea what specs this new Sony slate will bring, aside from a 10 inch display, Android 4.2 and most likely 32 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. I guess that Sony would have to make the jump to Retina Display level with this model, otherwise the CPU would go to waste on a mere Full HD… I also expect them to finally deliver a good camera on a tablet, if possible.
