Ever since Swype was launched, we haven’t seen any other revolutionary keyboards, or least I haven’t. Today we’re treated with an example of such a keyboard, called Slice Keyboard. The concept seems drawn out of a sci-fi movie, as you watch the video below.
The idea here is to have a tablet with a virtual keyboard for Android tablets, 7 inches and larger. Using both hands you’ll have your pinkie accessing the function keys and the thumb for the space bar. There are 3 main support points on each of the two circles that make the keyboard. You can easily access letters and functions like Enter, Shift or Delete, that are on the side. There’s a preview mode, that shows all the keys and if you double tap on the shift key, you’ll see more symbols and other stuff.
There’s also a typing game based on Space Invaders, that uses the circle controls to move your ship and fire. The demo of the keyboard is available on the Play Store for free and you can get it from here. It’s an innovative way of typing, but it doesn’t look comfortable, honestly speaking…
