These days the Hong Kong Electronics Show 2013 is bringing the public some new goodies to look at. Gadgets include some strange prototypes and products such as the one below, dubbed Skywood PhonePad.
The device is a gaming slate with a bulky case and its name certainly makes us think of an ASUS product. In fact, we’re dealing with sort of a PadFone knockoff, but not quite… The Skywood PhonePad is a 10.1 inch tablet with a docking station for a Samsung Galaxy S2, S3 and S4, plus the iPhones that have a Lightning port.
The idea is to dock your handset into the tablet and use it for gaming or media consumption. The PhonePad features a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, but the screen is quite glossy and doesn’t sport excellent viewing angles. This gaming device integrates an HDMI port, audio jack and a 3300 mAh battery among others and it weighs a hefty 0.964 kg.
The price tag is $125, which is quite OK in my book.
