We’re not the ones to point fingers, but Samsung really did a PR mistake this time… Last we heard, both the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 models were the same thickness, 8.6mm, which is 0.2mm less than the iPad 2. We got that info from official sources, press releases and whatnot. Guess what? The Galaxy Tab is actually THICKER, in spite of what Samsung promised us…

The info came as an embarrassment during last week’s CTIA, when an official was asked why the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was thicker than the Tab 8.9, in spite of them being supposed to have the same thickness. A spokesman didn’t dismiss these claims, but once again mentioned the official specs, so officially the device is still 0.02mm thinner than the iPad 2 (wasn’t that 0.2mm?).

In other news, Samsung used fake fans for the Galaxy Tab Interview Project, that was a series of talks with real people. They were supposed to describe their experience with the tablet, but instead they were paid actors…
