ASUS PadFone has been a ghost throughout the year, popping up here and there, after being unveiled in May. In case you don’t know what I’m talking about, the PadFone is a tabletphone, a device that has a special slot for putting a smartphone inside its slate body. Now, it appears that ASUS will be launching the device at MWC 2012.
The event will take place between February 27, up to March 1st and the new tablet will come with better specs than expected. It has been bumped to a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, like the ASUS Transformer Prime that has already debuted in Taiwan. There’s also Android Ice Cream Sandwich expected as the OS and now it seems that MWC 2012 will be a quad core affair, since HTC also plans to showcase a tablet with such processing power and two four core phones.
The ASUS PadFone features a 10 inch touch display and its handset is actually the brain of the device. The tablet will rely on a single SIM card to get connectivity and I’m really curios to see both the devices working together.
