Polymer Vision was originally a spin-off of Philips and now it has gone on its own, showcasing the next-gen 6 inch rollable e-paper display. The working sample is supposed to last 25 thousand uses and since it’s flexible, it allows the user to roll it without damage.
Measuring 6 inches, the screen supports a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, so this is a viable solution for portable devices. The video below shows the piece of technology being folded repeatedly, while showing images and text. Samsung was also working on a similar solution, albeit it might have been with a better resolution and a superior quality.
If I’m not mistaking Sony also showcased a similar flexible screen, but capable of HD graphics.
