It’s not hard to offer specs better than the iPad 2 on a similar tablet format, but when you do it at a budget price, things become interesting. The Peak brand apparently came up with an affordable slate, available on Ebuyer and going as the Extra Value tablet.

The price tag is 120 quid and the specs are pretty good, including a dual core Rockchip SoC at 1.5 GHz with an ARM Mali 400 quad core GPU. There’s also 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, a 10.1 inch IPS 1280 x 800 pixel display, a front camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the OS. We’ve also got WiFi, HDMI and a microUSB connector, as well as a rear 2 megapixel camera and a microSD card slot.

Ebuyer also sells the Zoostorm PlayTab, a device with a similar specs list, but also double the storage, for only 10 quid more. Of course, these are all Chinese/Taiwanese white box models rebranded locally and you’d better get one, since these things will invade the market in no time, so you’ll be tempted to comply sooner or later.
