Panasonic has just announced a new convertible device, one of its first models to rely on the Intel Core M processor. This is the Panasonic RZ4 model, running Windows 8.1 and ready for a Japan unveiling in mid October.

The price is around $1500 and it includes a Full HD IPS LCD display. The RZ4 and its diagonal makes us think of a netbook frankly speaking, but the price is huge. The Intel Core M shows that you can achieve great power even on smaller devices and also great battery life. The Panasonic RZ4 uses the Intel Core M-5Y10 CPU, with a choice of 4 or 8 GB of RAM and either 128 or 512 of SSD storage.

The screen is an IPS LCD, as mentioned before and it can be pushed back 360 degrees in order to achieve tablet usage. The connectivity options include WiFi g/n/ac, HDMI, USB 3.0 and there’s also Ethernet on the list, as well as VGA for some reason. The product is 2 cm thick and it weighs 750 grams. Sadly, this unit is only coming to Japan for now.
