We’ve seen children-oriented tablets before, but one more never hurt anyone. Meet the MEEP! kiddie slate, made by Oregon Scientific and featuring a 7 inch touchscreen display, WiFi and a SD card slot.
There’s also a G-sensor on board and Android as the OS of choice, in an unspecified version. The product is intended for ages six and up and parents will be able to install monitoring software and limited web access on the device, through an online control panel. Accessories will also be available for this slate, including musical instruments.
During this weekend there’s a TIA toy fair, where a demo will be available for this product. It will be interesting to see what kind of musical instruments will be suported in the MEEP!, but I have a feeling these will be mere pianos for children.
