Oppo has officially confirmed that it will unveil a new tablet, the Oppo Pad Air 5, on December 25 in China. Ahead of the launch, the device has already appeared on the official Oppo Shop, where its design, main specifications, and memory variants have been listed, giving us a fairly clear picture of what to expect.
According to the pre-order page, the Oppo Pad Air 5 will feature a 2.8K resolution display, run ColorOS, and pack a large 10,050mAh battery. While Oppo hasn’t disclosed all hardware details just yet, these specs immediately stand out as familiar — and for good reason.
In terms of connectivity, the Pad Air 5 will be available in Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 5G versions. Color options include Space Gray, Starlight Powder, and Starlight Pink, although not all colors will be offered across every configuration. The Wi-Fi model will come in 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB variants. Meanwhile, the 5G version will be limited to Space Gray and offered only in an 8GB + 128GB configuration.
Based on the revealed specifications, the Oppo Pad Air 5 appears to be a rebranded OnePlus Pad Go 2, which recently launched in other markets. If that’s the case, the tablet is expected to feature a 12.1-inch LCD display with 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra chipset. Memory would likely include LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, paired with 33W fast charging for the 10,050mAh battery.
Camera hardware is expected to be modest, with 8MP cameras on both the front and rear, while audio could be handled by a quad-speaker setup. Face unlock is also likely to be included as the primary biometric option.
If this sounds familiar, that’s because Oppo has taken this approach before. The Oppo Pad Air 2, launched back in 2023, was also a rebranded version of a OnePlus tablet for the Chinese market.
